Yesterday (April 22) Mikey and I headed to Stride Rite for his first pair of "real" shoes. After the salesgirl put them on and Mikey stood up, I got all teary eyed! My baby boy is growing up! Look at these shoes!!! I took him to the playspace next door so he could break them in a bit. He gravitated towards the ducks. I wasn't able to get a good shot with his face since he was so distracted by the toys and other children.

As for the status of his walking, Mikey is very quick at crawling and cruising along the furniture. Every day he is standing unsupported for longer periods of time. He practically runs when you hold his hands while he "walks". I'm excited to see him take his first step......but I'm not rushing anything!
Lovin' the new kicks. He is ahead of Sophia in mobility for sure. She is a fast crawler and cruiser, but has yet to even attempt standing unassisted. It is so fun to watch them grow. Brother didn't walk until 15 months and that was fine by me. I told Soph she has a September deadline and I can't quite figure out how I would carry two :) LOVE YOUR BLOGGING!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much fine with the no walking yet. He is fast enough as it is when he crawls! I watched a friends 16 month old the other day and carried both kids up the stairs to change their diapers (47 lbs total!). I don't think I could do that on a regular basis!! Whew! What a workout!
